Ingredients:

  • 1.5 lb boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp cracked black pepper
  • 1 tbsp avocado oil
  • 1/3 cup raw honey
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder

Instructions:

  1. Season the chicken thighs with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat avocado oil in a 12-inch cast iron or stainless steel skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  3. Place chicken in the pan and sear for 5–7 minutes per side until a deep mahogany-colored crust forms.
  4. Lower the heat to medium. Stir in the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, apple cider vinegar, and onion powder, scraping up the brown bits from the bottom of the pan.
  5. Toss the chicken continuously in the simmering sauce for 2–3 minutes, basting the tops of the thighs with a spoon until the sauce is glossy and clings to the meat.
