Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (235g) mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp (28g) unsalted butter, melted and cooled slightly
  • 1 tbsp (16g) tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp (12g) granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp (2g) paprika
  • 1/2 tsp (1g) garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp (30ml) water

Instructions:

  1. Combine the mayonnaise, melted butter, and tomato paste in a medium mixing bowl. Whisk vigorously until the color is uniform and no streaks of tomato paste remain.
  2. Add the sugar, paprika, and garlic powder. Continue whisking until the sugar crystals are no longer visible and the sauce has turned a smooth, pale orange.
  3. Slowly drizzle in water one tablespoon at a time while whisking until the sauce reaches a ribbon consistency.
  4. Transfer the sauce to an airtight jar and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to develop and viscosity to set.
