Ingredients:
- 6 cups peeled and sliced Granny Smith or Honeycrisp apples
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup gluten-free rolled oats
- 1/2 cup almond flour
- 1/2 cup gluten-free all-purpose flour blend
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, toss the sliced apples with lemon juice, brown sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, and salt. Ensure every apple slice is evenly coated in the spice mixture.
- Pour the apple mixture into a 9x9 inch baking dish, spreading them evenly to create a level surface.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the gluten-free oats, almond flour, GF all-purpose flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
- Add the cold, cubed butter to the dry ingredients. Using a pastry cutter or two forks, work the butter in until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs with some pea-sized lumps.
- Scatter the crumble mixture evenly over the top of the apples, leaving a small gap around the edges to prevent the topping from sticking to the sides of the pan.
- Bake for 40–45 minutes until the topping is golden brown.
