Ingredients:

  • 6 cups peeled and sliced Granny Smith or Honeycrisp apples
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup gluten-free rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup almond flour
  • 1/2 cup gluten-free all-purpose flour blend
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, toss the sliced apples with lemon juice, brown sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, and salt. Ensure every apple slice is evenly coated in the spice mixture.
  3. Pour the apple mixture into a 9x9 inch baking dish, spreading them evenly to create a level surface.
  4. In a medium bowl, whisk together the gluten-free oats, almond flour, GF all-purpose flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
  5. Add the cold, cubed butter to the dry ingredients. Using a pastry cutter or two forks, work the butter in until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs with some pea-sized lumps.
  6. Scatter the crumble mixture evenly over the top of the apples, leaving a small gap around the edges to prevent the topping from sticking to the sides of the pan.
  7. Bake for 40–45 minutes until the topping is golden brown.
