Ingredients:

  • 0.5 cup warm water (120ml)
  • 1 tsp granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp active dry yeast
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour (375g)
  • 1 tsp fine sea salt
  • 0.5 cup plain full-fat Greek yogurt (120g)
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 4 tbsp salted butter, melted
  • 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp fresh cilantro, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp nigella seeds

Instructions:

  1. Combine warm water (110°F), sugar, and yeast in a small bowl. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until thick, frothy foam forms.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour and salt. Create a well in the center.
  3. Pour the yeast mixture, Greek yogurt, and olive oil into the well. Stir with a wooden spoon until a shaggy dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough by hand for about 3 minutes until smooth but slightly tacky. Cover with a damp towel and let rest for 45 minutes.
  5. Divide dough into 8 equal portions and roll out into ovals. Heat a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat.
  6. Cook each naan for 1-2 minutes per side until large bubbles form and the surface is charred.
  7. Combine melted butter, minced garlic, and cilantro. Brush onto warm naan immediately before serving.
