Ingredients:
- 0.5 cup warm water (120ml)
- 1 tsp granulated sugar
- 2 tsp active dry yeast
- 3 cups all-purpose flour (375g)
- 1 tsp fine sea salt
- 0.5 cup plain full-fat Greek yogurt (120g)
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 4 tbsp salted butter, melted
- 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp fresh cilantro, finely chopped
- 1 tsp nigella seeds
Instructions:
- Combine warm water (110°F), sugar, and yeast in a small bowl. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until thick, frothy foam forms.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour and salt. Create a well in the center.
- Pour the yeast mixture, Greek yogurt, and olive oil into the well. Stir with a wooden spoon until a shaggy dough forms.
- Knead the dough by hand for about 3 minutes until smooth but slightly tacky. Cover with a damp towel and let rest for 45 minutes.
- Divide dough into 8 equal portions and roll out into ovals. Heat a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat.
- Cook each naan for 1-2 minutes per side until large bubbles form and the surface is charred.
- Combine melted butter, minced garlic, and cilantro. Brush onto warm naan immediately before serving.
