Ingredients:

  • 2 Granny Smith apples, peeled and diced (approx. 1 lb / 450g)
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream, cold
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt

Instructions:

  1. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the diced apples and stir until they begin to soften.
  2. Sprinkle in the brown sugar and 1 tsp of cinnamon, stirring constantly for 5–8 minutes until the apples are mahogany-colored. Stir in the lemon juice, remove from heat, and let cool completely.
  3. In a chilled bowl, beat the cold heavy cream using a hand mixer or stand mixer until stiff peaks form.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, remaining cinnamon, vanilla, and salt.
  5. Gently fold the whipped cream into the condensed milk mixture using a silicone spatula, being careful not to deflate the air.
  6. Pour half of the cream mixture into a 9x5 inch loaf pan. Spoon half of the cooled caramelized apples on top. Repeat with the remaining cream and apples.
  7. Use a knife or spatula to gently swirl the apples into the cream to create a marble effect. Cover with plastic wrap and freeze for at least 6 hours.
