Ingredients:
- 2 large Granny Smith apples (approx. 1 lb / 450g)
- 4 tbsp (55g) brown sugar, packed
- 1 tsp (2g) ground cinnamon
- 2 tbsp (28g) unsalted butter, cubed
Instructions:
- Core the apples, removing the center seeds and tough core, leaving a floor about ½ inch thick at the bottom to hold the filling.
- Spoon the cinnamon-sugar mixture into the center of each apple, followed by a cube of butter.
- Wrap each apple individually in a double layer of heavy-duty foil, twisting the ends tightly to create an airtight seal.
- Place the foil packets directly onto the hot embers of a campfire. Rotate the apples every 5-7 minutes for 15-20 minutes, or until the apple gives way easily when pressed with tongs.
