Ingredients:
- 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ¾ cup BBQ sauce
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
Instructions:
- Pat the chicken breasts completely dry with paper towels. Use a meat mallet to pound the thickest part of the breast until the piece is a uniform thickness of about ¾ inch.
- Combine the brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Coat each chicken breast generously on all sides with the rub.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high (approximately 375°F to 400°F). Place the chicken on the grates and grill uncovered for about 5–7 minutes per side until charred grill marks appear.
- Mix the BBQ sauce with apple cider vinegar. During the last 3–5 minutes of cooking, brush a thick layer of the mixture onto the chicken.
- Flip the chicken once more to let the sauce bubble and caramelize. Remove from heat immediately when the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Allow the chicken to rest for 5 minutes before serving.
